Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2018 Subaru Outback, we're going to be checking out the Curt premium hitch-mounted bike rack. So one of the big questions that we get asked all the time in regards to a hitch-mounted bike racks is if you're still going to be able to get into the back of your Subaru. And the answer is yes, with this one, it does fold down out of the way. And one of the few little things that we need to do, we turn this T handle, just back that off a little bit, pull out this pin here. Well, you have to remove the clip first and get that pin pulled out. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 bike rack, here on our 2021 Subaru Outback. So, the Road Runner 4 bike rack, is gonna be a great economical option for you and the family. As we can see here, we can hold anywhere from one to four bikes. So, the Road Runner is what's known as a hanging style bike rack. So, the hanging style bike rack consists of the vertical upright with these two horizontal arms here. So, in regards to the hanging versus platform-style racks, the platform-style racks are a little bit easier to load your bikes on, and get them off, but they're also heavier and they're more expensive. more

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 on our 2015 Subaru Outback. The color you see now is gray, but it comes in two other colors, black and pearl, so just pick whichever one is going to go best with your vehicle. This one's a two inch hitch, but all the other colors are going to come in an option of an inch and a quarter as well. We're going to get 40 pounds per bike with the Sherpa. So it's going to be great for all your road bikes and especially good for your carbon fiber frame bikes, just because we do have a little wheel hook here, so we're not going to be putting any stress on our frame.This isn't going to be a bike rack if you have some fat tire bikes because the wheel cradles are only going to accept a wheel with up to three inches in width. more

Eva Angeline: Hi everyone. It's Eva Angeline here at Etrailer and today we are looking at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 bike rack here on our 2020 Subaru Forester. So this is a great bike rack if you're looking for something that is solid, easy to use and will keep your bikes safe and secure as you go on your trip.One of its features which I'm super excited about since it does it so well is to tilt away. To do so pull this lever right over here and just let it slowly fall and you can see that angle of tilt away, which is really good because even with limited clearance here on our Forester, you can see that you can definitely open up your hatch, access the inside of your car, maybe put away groceries or get your bike helmet out all without having to take off your bike, because you can just tilt it away. And if you want to lift it back up, all you need to do is lift it back up and then snaps into place.The way our bike is mounted to our bike rack is by this wheel strap as well as this wheel mount. So the wheel mount is nice because even if you have it on your carbon frame bikes, your alternate frame bikes, it's perfectly fine because it's mounted by the wheel. more

This is going to be a really nice upgraded hanging style bike rack. What I like about hanging styles is they're a little bit more affordable, even for a higher end version like this one, but it gives us a little bit better ground clearance with our bikes, so we don't have a big platform hanging out. Now the downside to hanging style is it gets a little bit more crowded. The nicer frames, carbon frames, those aren't ideal for hanging style because one, you're putting a lot of pressure on the frame, but two, they're close and you might scratch them. more

Zach here at etrailer.com, and today we have the Thule Camber on our 2019 Subaru Forester.This is going to be a really good bike rack if you're looking to haul a lot of bikes, but you're not looking to spend a ton of money with some of the more expensive platform styles, and you're getting a really good bike rack in Thule. Thule makes really good stuff. They do a lot of testing, a lot of engineering behind giving you a solid bike rack. My favorite part about this bike rack is the spacing, though, and how easy it is to use. A lot of hanging style racks, you're going to have an issue with how close your bikes sit together, and this one is going to allow you to space them out about 7" apart on those cradles. more

This is going to be a nice versatile bike rack that not only holds a lot of different bikes but it just looks good and it functions well. When I say it's very versatile, it holds a lot of different bikes especially because it's wheel not a design so I can put my carbon bike on here.Frame mounted bike racks aren't ideal for carbon bikes because it puts too much stress going down the road on those frames. It has a 60 pound capacity per bike so you can get a lot of those e-Bikes and some fat bikes on there. If you are carrying an e-Bike though, please take the battery off. more

Hey everybody. Ryan here at Etrailer today on our 2020 Subaru Forester. We're going to be taking a look at the Thule Apex XT Two Bike Rack. The rack that we have here today can hold up to a total of two bikes, but if you need to carry more, there's also a four bike as well as a five byte version available too. So one of the big questions we get asked all the time in regards to hitch mounted bike racks is if you're still going to be able to have full access to your hatch. Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4-bike rack. Right off the bat, in my opinion, I think this is going to be a really great way to carry multiple bikes. This rack's going to give you a lot of bang for your buck and be very functional on the back of your Forester. Not only is it going to look good, I think where it's going to sit relative to the back window, you're not going to have any issue seeing out the back as you're driving down the road. But, you still are going to be able to keep an eye on your bikes, which is a good thing, especially whenever you have multiple of them back here.It's really simple how the rack is going to work. more

Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Crosstrek- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, it's Colin here at etrailer. Today we got a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. We've been test fitting some different hitch-mounted accessories on it, and right now we have the Rola TX-102 bike rack loaded up. Now this is a two-bike hanging-style rack. We'll be able to get two bikes loaded and carry them to and from your destination.Now, how each bike is secured, you can see we've got two rubber straps on our top tube making sure they stay in place in the cradles. It's going to have a third point of contact for each bike. more

Hi there Subaru owners. Today, in your 2015 Subaru Outback, we're going to be taking a look at Reese's Explore, hanging style bike rack. Our bike is secured to the frame. Here at the top, we've got two hook and loop fasteners that secure in place to the rubber pads, found beneath. The rubber pads have channels in them. The rubber Mount has a channel inside for your brake cables to pass through. more

Adam with etrailer.com.Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack 2, hanging style bike rack on our 2017 Subaru Outback.So, this bike rack is going to be able to carry two bikes to and from your destination, and they're going to have three tie down points per bike. Also, it's going to have 33 pounds per bike, so even your heavier bikes, you're going to be able to fit those on here. With the three different straps that we have, we have two here up top and one down at the bottom so we are going to have some soft durable rubber straps, so they're going to withhold overall the elements and also protect the top of that bike frame. They're all going to be the same. Let me just kind of pull them, get them off that lip here. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer on our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek.So this is the gunmetal gray version, but we do have two different types and we are going to have black and metallic black as well. So go online and pick the one that's right for you. But this is going to be able to hold two different bikes.The cool thing about this bike rack, it doesn't have any frame contact. We are going to clamp down on our wheel here. So that's going to be great for your carbon fiber bikes, just so you don't do any damage or make any contact with that frame.One of the best features of this bike rack, it does allow you to tilt it with the bikes installed and what this is going to be good for, maybe you left something in the back hatch. more
